"The Yavapai County Community Foundation named Dr. Don Hecht, founder and President Emeritus of Northcentral University, their Philanthropist of the Year for his extensive, multifaceted generosity in support of numerous non-profits serving the residents of Yavapai County. This year, Dr. Hecht became one of only three philanthropists ever to reach "Memory Maker" status at Yavapai Big Brothers Big Sisters, indicating he has donated at least $250,000 to the organization.”
We serve the global community and help our neighbors.
Although we are a University that serves Students worldwide, we look to our founder as an example, focusing on being an involved good neighbor in our local community. To make the most impact, we concentrate on three areas -- children’s, animal and community support organizations.
Prevent Child Abuse Arizona
A private, non-profit organization whose mission is to prevent the abuse and neglect of Arizona children.
CASA Senior Center Meals on Wheels
Meals on Wheels delivers nutritional, well-balanced meals to homebound seniors and those with permanent or temporary disabilities.
Prescott Area Habitat for Humanity
A locally-run affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International, this non-profit, ecumenical Christian housing organization partners with working low-income families to construct and finance their own homes, in the quad-city area of Yavapai County, with zero-interest mortgages.
Yavapai Humane Society
Promoting the welfare and humane treatment of companion animals by providing all aspects of care to any animal in need until a loving home is found.
